Say "NO!" to Firmware Upgrades
When is an upgrade not an upgrade at all?
When it prevents you from enjoying the savings, service, and environmental benefits of using Ink Point printer cartridges. For years, printer and cartridge manufacturers have prompted your PC or Mac to install "firmware upgrades" to update your printer's driver.
In reality, by performing this upgrade you are doing the cartridge manufacturer a favour by installing all of their new codes embedded in the electronics of brand-new cartridges. Once you've completed this upgrade, the Ink Point cartridges you enjoy using may be locked out, forcing you to purchase overpriced name-brand cartridges from the super-store.
Please note:
Firmware upgrades are irreversible and in no way affect the performance of your printer. In the future, "just say no" to firmware upgrades! Doing this will cause our cartridges, refills and remanufactured toner cartridges not to work as the computer / printer will show them as counterfeit.
Tips of the trade for Epson aftermarket cartridges
Occasionally aftermarket cartridges may encounter registration problems with your Epson printer. Here are some suggestions which will prove useful before you get to stage five. If step 1 works, the job is complete, If it doesn't, proceed to step 2 .
1. Install one cartridge at a time, let it register then install the rest one at a time. It takes longer to do but you get a good success rate.
2. Leave the top of the cartridge access section of the printer elevated and press the ink button to continue.
3. Check the chips on each of the cartridges. This is what communicates with the printer. Give them each a gentle wipe with a cloth to ensure they are clean and dust free.
4. Remove the cartridge/s you have just installed and turn the printer off for 5 minutes. This resets your printer memory. (Same as you would do with your sky box or your mobile).
5. Bring the printer into us and we will resolve the issue for you.
